Users are encouraged to adhere to the provided Community Guidelines and the Terms of Service to maintain a positive environment. The platform values freedom of speech, expression, and user privacy, aligning with legal requirements and community responsibility.

The Community Guidelines emphasize creating a community where users can express their views safely. Users are reminded to treat online interactions similarly to real-world conversations, considering the impact of their posts on others. The guidelines outline expected behavior to ensure a platform that fosters healthy discussions and diverse ideas. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in actions such as removing violative content, informing authorities when necessary, or suspending/terminating user accounts. Adhering to these rules is essential to maintaining a community that encourages positive engagement and diverse conversations on OROS Health app.

COMPLIANCE WITH RELEVANT LAWS

All content shared on our platform must comply with the laws of India, including the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and the Information Technology Act, 2000, along with any rules and amendments under these laws. We collaborate with legal authorities and enforce mechanisms in cases of law violations. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in appropriate legal actions.

GRAPHICAL OBSCENE OR SEXUAL CONTENT

The platform strictly prohibits the sharing of obscene, sexually explicit, or pornographic content, including material depicting nudity or sexual activities. This includes content featuring people in compromising positions, sexual actions, fetish or erotic intent, and any form of sexual exploitation or endangerment. The platform has a zero-tolerance policy for content that involves sextortion, revenge pornography, bestiality, child pornography, or any material that is indecent, immoral, or related to rape, sexual objectification, non-consensual activities, and molestation. Additionally, explicit depictions of deceased persons, violent sexual acts, and excessively gory imagery are not allowed. Users violating these guidelines will be reported to authorities promptly.

SCAM, SPAM OR FRAUD

Users are prohibited from spamming or scamming others on the platform. Manipulating or negatively affecting other users’ experiences, including bulk messaging to amplify content or disrupt conversations, is not allowed. The platform must not be used for controlling prices or publishing information to manipulate users for financial gain. Deceptive practices, sharing false information, luring users into revealing sensitive information, and engaging in fraudulent schemes are strictly prohibited. Impersonating others to obtain personal information or attempting to defraud individuals of money, property, or inheritance is not allowed. Unsolicited communications are also not permitted.

CYBERBULLYING, HARASSING OR INTIMIDATING

The platform strongly condemns harassment and bullying, aiming to provide users with the freedom to express themselves without fear of emotional distress. Users are encouraged to ignore petty or annoying content and report any harassing or degrading material. Violations include posting abusive language, morphed images. Harassing someone based on race, caste, color, disabilities, religion, or sexual preferences, engaging in sexual misconduct, extortion, blackmail, or sharing unauthorized images/information is strictly prohibited. Respect for others’ boundaries, including not contacting blocked users, is emphasized. Sharing information without consent with the intent to harass is also forbidden. False information posted for financial gain or harm is not allowed, unless involving critical discussion of individuals with a large public audience, subject to platform Terms and Guidelines.

MISINFORMATION

Users on Oros app are encouraged to prioritize accuracy and verify information related to mental health before sharing. The aim is to foster constructive conversations, support creative thinking, and facilitate the exchange of perspectives. Deliberately sharing misinformation, including false or unverified mental health content, is strictly prohibited as it can have harmful effects on individuals. Users are advised to exercise discretion, ensuring that the mental health information they share is authentic and supports the well-being of the community.

SELF-HARM AND SUICIDE

At Oros Health, the mental health and well-being of our users are paramount. We acknowledge the importance of raising awareness about mental health issues and offer support to users sharing their experiences, including those related to self-harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, or other mental health concerns. However, we strictly prohibit content that depicts or encourages self-harm, suicide, or dangerous activities. Any content showcasing maltreatment, self-injury, or providing instructions on self-harm is not allowed. Negative targeting, tagging, or making fun of victims and survivors of psychological or physical maltreatment is also prohibited.

While we encourage users to share their stories for support, we do not permit the promotion of suicide, self-harm, or content that may endanger others. In cases where you believe a user is at risk, we urge you to contact local emergency services. Information on helplines, such as the Government of India’s Mental Health Rehabilitation Helpline at 1800-599-0019, can be accessed for assistance. We welcome content aimed at providing support, aid, and relief for those dealing with serious issues, as well as users sharing experiences to offer coping mechanisms, provided it aligns with the intention of aiding others.

Legal Aspects:

  • Abetment of Suicide: Under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, assisting someone in committing suicide can lead to punishment, including a fine or imprisonment for up to 10 years.
  • Right to Access Mental Healthcare: Section 18(1) of The Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, ensures that every person has the right to access mental health care and treatment from mental health services provided or funded by the appropriate Government.

HATE SPEECH, DISCRIMINATION

The guidelines for behavior on oros emphasize treating others with dignity, respect, and empathy. Users are encouraged to express disagreements in a valid and well-intentioned manner, avoiding any hateful content, personal attacks, or ad hominem speech. Hateful images or symbols in profile elements are prohibited, as well as any alteration of usernames, display names, or bios that may appear abusive or harassing. The platform strictly prohibits speech encouraging violence, racial or ethnic discrimination, disparagement based on nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political affiliation, disability, or health conditions. This summary is not exhaustive, and users are expected to adhere to these guidelines for positive and respectful interactions on our platform.

SOMETHING ELSE

If users cannot find a suitable reason for reporting a post violation among the options provided on the report post screen, they can select ‘Something Else form the category list.’ This includes issues like:

  • RELIGIOUS OFFENSIVENESS

The guidelines emphasize respect for the religious beliefs of others on the platform. Users are prohibited from publishing content that is hurtful to the sentiments of others, insults religions or customs, or causes communal discord. This includes actions such as abusing religious deities, prophets, figures, or desecrating religious symbols. The document highlights relevant legal consequences, such as Section 295-A punishing intentional harm to religious feelings and Section 153A penalizing the promotion of disharmony based on various factors. Additionally, Section 298 addresses deliberate attempts to hurt religious feelings, punishable by imprisonment, fine, or both

  • TERRORISM, EXTREMISM 

Oros Health strictly prohibits content that encourages terrorism and extremism. Users engaging in such activities may face consequences, including actions taken by our team and reporting to authorities. Users must refrain from supporting or promoting dangerous activities, including inciting terrorism, violence, or threats to India’s unity, integrity, defense, security, or sovereignty. Posting content on behalf of terrorist organizations or glorifying violent acts is strictly forbidden. Additionally, users cannot post content related to terrorism or criminal activities without explicitly conveying educational context. Seditious statements, aiming to incite hatred or disaffection towards the government, are prohibited under sedition laws, carrying potential imprisonment and fines. Overall, the guidelines emphasize responsible and lawful use of the platform to ensure public safety and national security. 

  • ILLEGAL ACTIVITY

Users are strictly prohibited from posting content that is illegal or promotes engagement in unlawful activities. This includes the buying or selling of narcotics, illegal or prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, psychotropic substances, or any items not permitted for private trading. The platform must not be used to promote lotteries, gambling, money laundering, prostitution, escort services, human or child trafficking, organized violence, or any criminal activities. Content that threatens public order, encourages offenses, or obstructs investigations is strictly prohibited.

Additionally, advertising of tobacco, alcohol, and other products violating the Code for Self-Regulation of Advertising Content in India is not allowed.

Legal Aspects:

  • Access to Prescription Drugs: Rule 65 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, mandates that drugs specified in certain Schedules must be supplied with a valid license or prescription.
  • Prohibition of Advertisement of Certain Drugs and Magic Remedies:Sections 3 and 5 of The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, prohibit the publication of advertisements claiming that certain drugs or magic remedies can cure conditions outlined in Section 3 of the Act.
  • No Advertisements of Liquor and Tobacco: Section 5 of The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003, prohibits the advertisement, direct or indirect, of cigarettes or tobacco products by those involved in their production, supply, and distribution.
  • PRIVACY INVASION

Oros health emphasizes respecting the privacy of others by prohibiting the publication or encouragement of personal information that invades privacy. Users are explicitly forbidden from capturing, sharing, or publishing images of a person’s private area without explicit consent. The platform also prohibits content containing personal attacks, abusive language, slangs, or expletives in any language. Users are not allowed to direct such language at others, engage in name-calling, make malicious insults with racial undertones, or comment on anyone’s physical attributes. The guidelines promote a respectful and considerate environment on the platform.
